A growing concern in modern society is a loss of historical heritage such as traditional art and crafts. They are being replaced with modern technology and art, resulting in less interest in the past creations. In this essay, I will observe the cause of this issue and suggest some reasonable solutions from the governmental perspective.
A fundamental problem with arts is that ordinary people do not properly understand their value and meaning. They request to dig down into the history and the concrete depicted time period. Without this knowledge the public does not feel the raised issues and does not appreciate art as critics. Moreover, modern crafts are more bright and engaging. They connect with viewers’ problems and resonate with their feelings. People usually better understand and sympathize with issues related to them or current situations.
Having examined the causes, we must consider how to resolve this problem. Several measures could be taken by a government to evoke interest in traditional art. Raising awareness about the impact of the past on the present life, authorities emphasise its value. In addition, they may outline prospects of the possible future, considering the depicted mistakes and problems of the past. Another way to attract attention of the public is modern technologies. Integration of them to the traditional art engages spectators. They will be entertained with the help of AI and AR, resulting in more careful attitude toward traditional crafts.
Despite a complicated nature of art and an increased influence of the technologies, governments have to protect historical heritage. If these solutions are implemented, significant progress could be made in addressing the loss of the interest in traditional artworks.
