Band 6+: Traffic congestion is a growing problem in many of the world's major cities. What are some possible reasons for this problem? What solutions are there to address the growing traffic congestion problem?

Traffic jam is a rising issue in a lot of major megapolises throughout the world. In this essay, I will outline the primary causes leading to this, present some effecient ways to tackle this issue, and share my subjective opinion about it at the end.

To commence with, the chief reason is incontrovertibly the growing population worldwide. In some overpopulated countries, such as India, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc, you can witness traffic congestion on a daily basis. Immense population means enormous number of individuals who possess cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other means of transportation. To that end, there is simply not satisfactory size and number of the roads, which as a result ends up with congestion on the roads. Another reason would be the excessive development of particular cities and neglecting with the advancement of smaller towns. If the authoritative figures concentrate solely on the huge cities, new workplaces will be opened, whereas in the miniscule towns, all workplaces will become occupied and it would get arduous for the indigenous residents to find a job. Thus, they would flow into the mega cities, and again, due to the overpopulation, lots of traffic jams will take place.

As for the ways to cope with this, firs of all is to apply the policy of having an only child per family. This, as we can see in China nowadays, assists with the necessary decrease of the overpopulation, and the less residents there are residing in a city, the less traffic congestion will occur. Therefore, in order to deal with this problem, the officials of countries experiencing this should apply the same law within their states. Another way to deal with this is, of course, addressing the advancement of minor towns. When people toil diligently so as to develop their hometown, more workplaces will be available to apply for, and the government would be of great benefit in attaining this. The more workplaces there are in underdeveloped towns, the more people will stay within and will not migrate to another bigger city in order to get a job and cause congestion due to the large number of individuals.

In conclusion, I would argue that this is a serious problem which should definitely be addressed, as people get to their studying or working facilities late and might omit significant topics which could lead to lower grades or salaries as a result.
