Traffic problems are increasing day by day on an average level. One of the issue is traffic congestion rising in many cities around the world. In this essay I will highlight how vehicular overcrowding affects our lives and what steps could be taken to mitigate traffic in large cities.
Road chaos is a problem that needs to be solved because it is a affects people psychologically. Whenever there’s a jam on road people tends to become more annoyed and emotions such as anger, confusion, irritation are on peak. Some citizen become so impatient that they press the horn button of their car out of rage that itself causes noise pollution. As a result health problems arises. A survey from elder people shows that the most common reason for their negative behaviour is due to increase in noise pollution affecting both their mental and physical health. To lead a healthy and happy life traffic congestion should be minimized.
Government and individual efforts are necessary to tackle the problem of vehicle congestion. Government should make strict laws everyone must follow, such as traffic lights should be taken seriously. Duties of traffic warden should be monitored carefully. Expansion of roads can lessen this problem and making more lanes on the road can make space for more vehicles. Every citizen of a country should also understand their responsibility. Many people if they have to go to nearest supermarket or a shop, takes out their motor cars for the go, instead of this other ways should be opted like the use of bicycle or walking. Collective efforts bring change faster and can solve this problem more efficiently.
In conclusion, I would say that although traffic congestion is a matter of concern increasing in big cities nowadays but solution to it can be achieved through collective work.
