There has been much controversy about whether living with older members brings more benefits or drawbacks. In my opinion, living with grandparents in the same house is more advantageous.
It is understandable why some people living with the elderly as detrimental. The first significant downside of this is that in them have generation gaps. As a result, this can cause unnecessary family conflicts or cause some broken family issues. Furthermore, living under the same roof with older generations may advocate time and energy to take care of old people, this trend may take away time to study or revise from core subjects like Maths or Science. This is because if the elderly fall ill, their children or grandchildren will leave to take care of them, often forcing them to miss a class. Consequently, this could potentially reduce children’s overall performance in keu areas of study.
Despite the above – mentioned disadvantages, I firmly believe that living together, older people can help other family members. For instance, in a family where the grandparents live together, they can pick up the grandchildren from school and look after them after school, allowing the parents more time to work. Additionally, older people can give more tips on their life experiences, knowledge, and traditional values with the younger generation. This helps strengthen family bonds and pass on the culture. Therefore, it will help family activities become more flexible, organized, and beneficial.
In conclusion, there are clear positives and negatives to having older members of the family living in the same house.
