The use of artificial intelligence in primary education bring important challenges. These include that student became technological dependence and ot affect their critical thinking skills a long run, risk of AI could become replacing the human interaction and the problem of the unequal access internet who does not have same technological resources. For this reasons it necessary to think carefully how to use in school with new learners.
In the first place, technological dependence affect students in primary education, when children use AI too much. They might rely on it to solve their own problems instead of thinking of themselves. This affect their ability of problem solving and critical thinking skills. In primary education, children have to be asking question or exploring and they do not have to be waiting for a machine resolve their problems. For this reason teacher must have how use AI in the classroom.
In the second place, another challenge that primary schools faces with the use of AI is the risk of replacing human interaction between students. As I said in the previous paragraph, children may rely on Ai for too many things. And in case, there are applications where children would look for one to talk to her, to avoid talking to their classmates due to fear of being rejected or they are very introverted.
Lastly, another challenge is educational inequity and unequal access. Not all students have the same technology or internet access, some children can use AI while others can not. For example, some students may have tablets or WiFi at home to use AI tools which others not have access.
In conclusion, the use of AI in primary school create opportunities, but it bring important challenges. Instead technological dependence, risk of replanting human interaction, and unequal access to technology. It shows that Ai must be used carefully. Teacher and schools need to find a balance so that between Ai and the dependence in her.
