There has been a debatable issue whenever it comes tobelieving that public parks and sports facilities should take priority over shopping centres. In my opinion, I partly agree with this point of view.
On the one hand, public parks and sports facilities bring a lot of advantages for people. The number of people, specifically young people, who have to deal with obesity and disease has been increasing dramatically these days. Therefore, having public green spaces and sports infrastructure is extremely necessary. If citizens have a large open space, they will be motivated to work out regularly, harmony with nature, and relax themselves. Thanks to that, they will have a healthy lifestyle, contribute to improve the health of individuals and the community. Additionally, green areas can be considered as the lungs of towns. It plays a significant role in reducing emissions from vehicles or neighboring factories.
On the other hand, the construction of a shopping center is beneficial economically. Shopping centres create jobs, attract businesses, and boost the local economy. For example, many people travel to Bangkok in order to shop high quality goods at a cheap price. This brings jobs to many local residents. As well as attracting an abundant source of tourists and strongly promoting the tourism industry.
In conclusion, a city must have outdoor parks, sports facilities, and department stores in order to be fully developed.
