Band 7+: Whether or not someone achieves their aims is mostly by a question of luck.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is argued that a person’s luck is the biggest factor in achieving their dreams. I completely disagree with this phenomenon because having skills and strong mental power is essential to accomplishing aims, and it requires time and effort to learn whether a person is lucky or not.

On the one hand, people are required to have essential skills to achieve goals because, in this way, they face difficulties, and to tackle these, having enough knowledge and experience is crucial. Knowledge and experience cannot be gained by luck. The only way to do it is for people to work on themselves. For example, businessmen should have good communication skills to work with others, and they have to know how to avoid future risks by foreseeing them. These factors are important for businessmen, and mastering them requires much effort.

On the other hand, having strong mental power is one of the most important factors because, while achieving their goals, people face obstacles that are difficult to tackle. In this case, being confident and never giving up can help them. If people are not confident enough to tackle these issues, they do not try to tackle the problems and just give up because they cannot endure the difficulties and prefer to change their dreams. Therefore, I believe that the importance of luck in achieving dreams is lower than mental power and essential skills.

In conclusion, being lucky is considered the most important element in achieving goals. I disagree with this statement because people might see lots of obstacles that are not tackled by luck. To solve them, people should have essential skills and mentality, and it requires much time and effort to master them.
