Most parents consider homework to be very important, but some parents believe that its not important for children because it makes them tired after school and makes it difficult to understand the next day’s lessons. In my personal opinion, homework is not that important. Cause if i understand what i’m learning at school, I don’t have to exhaust myself doing homework and not understand the next day’s lesson. Also, Mongolian schools have too much homework, and most Mongolian students always say that they have too much homework.
If i clearly understand the lesson taught at school, I won’t need to spend a lot of time doing homework without understanding the context. It will help me learn more efficiently and avoid getting tired. While trying to figure things out on my own. For example if a student clearly understands a math lesson at school, they can complete their homework more quickly and correctly, and they are more prepared for next topic. In fact, many studies show that students who understand lessons during class retain information better and spend less time on homework.
Mongolian school have too much homework, and most Mongolian students always say that they are overwhelmed by the amount of homework they receive everyday. This situation makes it hard for students to have free time, relay, or enjoy hobbies outside of school. In fact, according to a steady conducted by the ministry of education in Mongolia, high school students spend an average of 3.05 hours a day doing homework, which is higher than the global average. For example, a tenth grade student may come home of 5pm and still have to do math, English, and science homework, which takes up most of their evening. This leaves little time for rest or family.
In conclusion, Mongolian schools should ensure lessons are mastered in class and limit homework to a reasonable amount – this lets students complete assignments efficiently for the next day’s lesson. While also protecting their well being by preventing stress and preserving time for rest and hobbies.
