A quantity of people deem higher education institutes have to adjust sport as a mandatory subject on every degree due to a growing population dealing with obesity. My level of agreement with the statement is somewhat balanced, because I think this will cause both advantages and disadvantageous situations.
In order to approach such an issue a number of reasons for the upbringing of it in the first place should be considered. One of the main reasons for presumably students to want to integrate sport into all specialties is the concern for the percentage of people that is struggling with extra weight. Such a position can be deemed offensive due to a proportion of people having medical pathologies related to eating habits and it may spark a debate on whether compulsory subject outside the limits of specialties of students is needed. Moreover, by enabling a mandatory sport course the students with less capabilities may suffer a decrease in credits due to them not being able to participate. Regarding the integration process into a curriculum then there is a risk of either inserting extra or less credits from students’ grading. However, the positives can also be identified and it relates to students’ health conditions increasing while future pathologies eradicated already in university walls. In addition, physical activities are directly associated with psyche, therefore, staying in shape will result in students expressing healthier emotions and overall positive energy needed for undertaking examinations.
In summation, I partially disagree with the proposition due to disapproval of non-specialty mandatory subjects and individual needs of each student.
