Throughout history, the accepted versions of media was books, newspapers and magazines, but modern technologies made a rapid change in information consumption. Therefore lots of concerns appeared about this transformation. Ones feel that printed media will soon be a thing of the past, others are persuaded that online forms of information will never replace paper media. In my personal opinion, printed books are more appealing source of information and ebooks can’t confront with fans of books.
On the one hand , online forms of information can easily destroy the authority of books for several reasons. Firstly, printed books demand materials like wood and chemicals, on the contrary, online sources don’t consume natural resources and thus seems more ecological. Secondly, when it comes to internet, it takes only one click to search for whatever you desire. Thirdly, internet media is far more cheaper. For cost of one book, you can afford monthly subscribe and unlimited access for tons of media.
On the other hand, recent developments have plethora of drawbacks, which leads to advantages of printed media. Paper books are extremely captivating, they allow you to take a glimpse into fantasy dimension. There is no form of information that can provide you specific atmosphere of the plot. Also online format of media worses your sight, ultraviolet light that comes from screen have a bad impact on your health. I am a vivid example of negative influence that was a result of long term reading through telephone. My sight ability decrease dramatically. Mot to mention technology addiction that can come with information consuming from internet resources. Nowadays humanity faces troubles with high screen time and suffocation from internet addict.
Book allows us to hide from rat race and non stop online connection. My personal opinion os that printed media will hardly ever disappear because of numerous advantages.
To conclude, paper sources are beneficial format of information consuming. Therefore it can’t fully disappear, but can be partly replaced with more eco friendly modern internet version of media.
