With the advancements in contemporary technology health care, society must take care of the growing elderly population. I personally think that society will be able to handle the rise in the numbers of elderly people because of the technological advancements and it can be managed by running programs in which nurses check on elderly people by visiting their houses every month.
The increase in the numbers of the elderly can be got over due to technological developments. Technological developments can provide the elderly with facilities, such as auto-kitchens, auto-vacuum cleaners and many more, that can ease their lives. For example, one company in the US is building smart houses specialized for the old people. These houses allow them to move around easily, contain the up-to-date technologies and are fully automated. I think that, with these technological improvements, society will not face huge problems dealing with the increasing elderly population.
Furthermore, governments can run programs in which nurses check on the elderly by visiting their houses monthly to overcome the challenge of raising elderly population. These programs allow the governments to be aware of physical and mental states of the old population and give medical care to individuals if needed. For instance, such kind of program was tested in Uzbekistan and it proved itself effective. Moreover, the program received many positive feedbacks from the public.
In conclusion, there has been great improvements in the health care and society has to focus on caring for the increasing elderly population. I think that society can manage the increase in the numbers of the elderly due to technological advancements and it can be managed by running programs in which nurses check on the old people by visiting their houses monthly.
