One of the concerns is that elderly people used to live a healthy life in the old days compared to now and there are various factors accountable which will be explained in the upcoming paragraph.

To begin with the reasons, the first one is that the older generation is neglected by the younger one. Due to individuals’ busy schedules, people have less time to spend with their elders and, therefore, are unable to give them the attention they deserve. For instance, people used to live together in the past, but now it is common for older people to live alone because their children prefer living a private life. Another possible reason is the emergence of new diseases in the world. Older adults, with their weakened immune systems, are more vulnerable and tend to contract these illnesses more easily. The coronavirus, for example, has significantly contributed to the continued prevalence of unhealthy lifestyles, such as some side effects from the vaccine have persisted in many people. Thus, the younger generation and diseases contribute to the feelings of isolation and the lack of good health in older people.

In order to combat the suffering and health issues faced by older people, there are some solutions to this problem. The first is to include the older generation in modern society by helping them use digital devices, such as mobile phones, to video call their children. For instance, guiding how to use certain tech devices can reduce feelings of loneliness among the elderly. Moreover, involving older individuals in physical activities can help them maintain a healthy lifestyle. Sports like walking, cycling, and joining running groups can help older people enjoy their exercise time.

To conclude, it has become a need of the hour to combat the issue. Thus, the right efforts are required at the right time before it turns into a menace.
