There has been a heated debate about whether pursuing higher education at the tertiary level should be the solely route for success. While some argue that the degree one gets after the completion of a university or college brings brighter opportunities in the job markets, others are against the idea. They believe that finding job after high school is perceived to be more significant in ensuring one’s successful career. In this essay, I will dive in those two arguments, and state my own decision at the of the essay.
On one hand, in university or college, people are trained more intensively to learn more theoretical principles before implementing what they’ve learnt in class in actual work conditions. They are equipped with a lot of more practices and given hands on experiences to meet the demand of the jobs they will apply once graduating. For example, when students are enrolled in the Management department, they are given a series of activities and practices enable them hone the skills required in the job market. They are assigned to do their internship in companies or other affiliated institutions. What they learn as interns will surely add to their resume which enable them compete and secure a position when applying for a job.
On the other hand, other people view pursuing more education is just a waste of time and money. Instead, they can invest the time they have to build a career from a young age. They can work to firstly get experience, and when possible, save up to run their own business. In the aspect of money, some who were born with golden spoon may use their privilege to start a business welcoming some investors. A young girl appeared on TV last time explaining her successful journey as a young entrepreneur. She started her lemonade business after school. Since then, she has generated a great some of money, and made a good profit from her business. She is now planning to start another business on fashion.
The aforementioned views are relevant to discuss. Personally, I would like to suggest those who have passion to start a career in a young age to follow the part. However, for those who eager to excel more in their careers to pursue higher education. With sky as the limit, I do believe people can aspire and thrive in their life.
