Some people believe that in this globalised world ,wild animals are irrevelant and protecting them is misuse of resources.I disagree with this view as I strongly believe that wild animals play a vital role in ecology and culture, so investing resources in their protection is neccesary and benefical.
To begin with, the most obvious reason for supporting investment on protecting wild animals is that they are essential for global ecosystem.They maintain biodiversity,food chains and support environmental balance. For example, wolves are controlling the population of deers,without wolves, deers will increase rapidly and overeat plants and young trees, which can damage forest and biodiversity.If wild animals dissapear ,the whole ecosystem will become unbalanced, which may also affect human life.Therefore, protecting them is a way to maintain a healthy enviornment.
In addition, another significant reason for supporting wildlife protection is that it can bring econonmic benfits. Many countries earn a large amount of money from ecotourism,as tourists travel to see animals in their natural habitat. This income supports local communities and economic growth. Moreover, wild animals can be valuable for science and medicine, as researchers discover many treatments from many diffrent spieces.
To recapitulate, it is undrestandable why some people think resources should be used for more urgent issues,such as education and health care. It is certainly important and government focus on them.But this dose not mean wildlife protection should be ignored. In my opinion, wild animals still have a place in 21st century and money spending for them is not waste.Although societies face many challenges,wildlife protection is essential for the enviornmental balance and economic devleopment.
