Globally, several serious natural disasters have occurred in some countries, like hurricanes and flooding. However, particularly in Kazakhstan, there haven’t been any significant events recently. By my estimation, there is a high chance of flooding happening in the future. In this article, I am going to discuss the reasons and potential solutions to prevent flooding from occurring.
One of the reasons why flooding occurs is that a large amount of ice is melting. As a result, it leads to rising water levels, which consequently causes flooding. Another reason is heavy rainfall. According to research, when it is raining heavily, the water level increases drastically.
The primary driver of ice melting is the increase in global warming due to the buildup of greenhouse gases. Therefore, by reducing the production of carbon emissions, it can mitigate ice melting significantly. Another solution to guard against heavy storms and increasing water levels is by setting up a stormwater drainage system. Having such a drainage system can transfer excess water from one area to another where the water level is minimal.
In conclusion, there are a few reasons for flooding, but they can be mitigated by reducing the production of carbon emissions and building drainage systems.
