Among some ways of enhancing health, I personally consider that having sufficient sleep plays an essential role in both physical recovery and mental clarity such as helping me feel more alert and capable of handling daily activities or decreasing negative emotions.
Regarding sufficient sleep, I often aim for 7 to 9 hours of sleep a day. No matter how many tasks that I have, I manage to go to bed at the same time each day, even on weekends. What is more, creating a relaxing bedtime routine also contributes to helping me fall asleep easily.
By sleeping sufficiently, it helps me feel more awake and capable of dealing with regular tasks. My body produces growth hormones contributing to physical recovery and energy restoration. This helps me feel physically awake and active. During sleep, the body repairs muscle tissue and replenishes energy stores, promoting recovery after physical activity. It means that I may as well be full of energy after a good night’s sleep.
As for adequate sleep, it helps me decrease negative emotions as well. With sufficient rest, I’m more likely to respond calmly and rationally to stressors, rather than with exaggerated emotional reactions like frustration or anger. For example, if I have sleep deprivation the previous day, I might become angrier and angrier on the next day with those around me.
In conclusion, sufficient sleep affects both physical and mental health in positive ways. By prioritizing good sleep, I can improve the state of health or my emotional well-being and experience fewer mood swings and negative feelings.
