I agree that printed and traditional types of books are not really in use as much as we can have access to the same books, information, content, and studies on the internet. One can access all of these through numerous sources, like electronic books (ebooks), PDFs, drives, and internet blogs like Wikipedia.
Firstly, there are so many benefits to reading online sources, including remote access to them. If a person has a smart device like a smartphone or laptop that is connected to the internet, they can access ebooks regardless of their location and time effortlessly. For instance, about 2 months ago, when I was out of town for some emergency case and I had a university exam the next day, I only completed my preparation for the exam and even passed with a great score. All these things became possible because I had all my study material on my personal internet drive.
Secondly, old-fashioned books are in printed form, and sometimes they are extremely heavy to carry to any other place. Further, for these, a person needs to pay and buy them to use them. On the other hand, ebooks and the internet are mostly open source, which means users are rarely asked to pay for the information or content. Moreover, users do not need to carry those heavy books.
In conclusion, as far as I am concerned, I agree that there is no need for written books as all the information and content is available on the internet remotely and open source.
