This chart and table show the information for the police budget in the year 2017 and 2018 in an area in Britain. the distribution of the money is shown in the charts and the sources for the budget is represented by the table.
It is clear from the table that, although there are increases in budget from all sources, none has a major uptick from 2017 to 2018. As for the chart, we can safely assume that most of the money was spent on officer and staff salaries while technology and building transport takes up about 20% to 30% for both year.
The National Government contributes the most to the Police budget with around 175 millions pound in 2017 and 2 millions more in 2018. While not contributing as much, the amount of money from local taxes and other sources is by no mean small. Namely taxes contributing approximately 91 to 102 millions in the period of 1 year. That makes the total sum of about 304 millions in 2017 with a decent increase of 14 millions in 2018.
Staff salaries seems to take the spotlight as shown in the chart, with it taking up the more than 65% in both years with a small drop of 6% after 1 year. A steady 17% of budget was always allocated to buildings and transport from 2017 to 2018 and budget for Technology has sharply increased from 2017 jumping from 8% of total budget usage to 14%.
