Technology has become more and more advanced nowadays, and these include biotechnology, which is involved in human cloning, genetic engineering and stem cell research and so on. These kinds of technology are complex issues, so I would support some conditions if they do not violate both laws and morality.
Biotechnology can be used to improve the human body and mind. Stem cell research helps people grow new organs that they had lost by accidents. However, scientists should consider carefully about some controversial biotechnology such as human cloning. Human cloning violates morality significantly. For example, people can not decide what those clonings should be regarded as human or object.
Furthermore, biotechnology can help people to improve food crops and food animals in some ways. Genetic engineering is an effective way to help crops and animals adopt the extreme environment and resist their natural enemies. To illustrate, produce with genetic change can survive from a flood or a drought, while those who don’t accept genetic change just die in the disasters.
On the other hand, people can have better lifestyles via biotechnology. In the future, people can have higher height, longer legs, and skins with pink or other rare colors one day due to the change of genes, which is a method of biotechnology. Nevertheless, there are many concerns when a new method of changing people’s genes is created.
In summary, I agree to a certain extent that biotechnology should be used to improve the human body and mind, improve food crops and food animals, and make our lives more comfortable. Scientists should keep developing biotechnology, but something that violates the principles of being human should be limited. Moreover, people should think cautiously when a new biotechnology is shown up.
