Young people are easily influenced by those around them, especially those their own age, a phenomenon known as peer pressure. While there are some benefits, I believe this influence has more drawbacks than advantages.
On the one hand, peer pressure can play a positive role in encouraging teenagers to improve themselves. Successful peers, individuals are often effort harder in academics, sports, or artistic activities. Furthermore, healthy competition among peers, such as in school clubs or group projects.
On the other hand, the negative consequences of peer pressure are more serious. Teenagers may be influenced to adopt harmful behaviors such as smoking, drinking alcohol. This can have long-term effects on their health and future opportunities. Furthermore, the students need to keep up with others can lead to significant psychological stress. Many teenagers feel anxious about not being “good enough” compared to their peers.
In summary, it is untrue that peer pressure can help identify and utilize individual talents and communication skills; however, I believe it also has negative impacts on the physical and mental well-being of young people.
