If this issue is not addressed properly, it may lead to serious consequences for democratic systems. This essay will explore the problems caused by youth disengagement in voting and suggest possible solutions.

One major problem is political corruption, which discourages young people from participating in elections. In many countries, elections are not transparent and results are often manipulated, making young voters feel that their votes do not matter. Another reason is that young people are more focused on building their careers and personal lives, which leads them to overlook civic responsibilities like voting. This lack of engagement weakens democracy and reduces accountability among leaders.

To tackle this issue, awareness campaigns can be launched to educate young people about the importance of voting. These campaigns can instil a sense of patriotism and responsibility. For instance, in Bangladesh, young people played a vital role in demanding the resignation of a corrupt prime minister. Another solution is the use of media to highlight the impact of youth votes and expose corruption. Transparent reporting can inspire trust and motivate young people to participate.

In conclusion, the declining interest in voting among young people is mainly caused by political corruption and personal priorities. However, through awareness campaigns and media engagement, this problem can be effectively addressed. Both individuals and institutions need to work together to ensure a strong democratic future.
