The image above explains the process for the creation of clothing from waste. We can observe some main checkpoints: while firstly it is treated as a garbage, it subsequently becomes a semi-product, ready to be transformed after passing through some physical and chemical stages.
The first step of the chain is the sorting of plastic, which is initially rinsed and afterwards shredded. The outcome of this process takes the form of plastic flakes. Now comes the
fundamental passage: the plastic flakes undergo a melting process in an oven that turns them into pellets through a pelletiser. When exiting this passage, the now pellet-state material has to pass through a clothing yarn, which has the functionality to create texture from it.
Finally, the result of this cycle is a brand new clothing article, that originates entirely from waste. This graph displays an effective way of creating sustainable fashion.
