Rising levels of congestion and air pollution is one of the major concerns growing in most cities. And among all the causes for this, one is increasing number of private cars. However, as per my opinion increase in private cars is not directly responsible for both the concerns.
It is ture that increase in private cars results in rising levels of both congestion and air pollution, but it is not the major factor which is responsible for these concerns. For instance, air pollution will not be a concern anymore if people start switching to use electric vechiles instead of one which needs disel, petrol or CNG to work. Simultaneously, rising level of congestion is not caused only because of increasing number of private cars, it also depends on whether a person is following traffic regulations or not. For example, it has been studied that various people don’t follow traffic rules, instead they coose to use wrong lanes, overtake, break signals etc. which leads to a traffic jam.
To reverse these trends, either the public should be encouraged to use public transports intead of private vechiles, which can be done by spreading awareness through camps, advertisements and educating people regarding the benifits of choosing public transports over private ones. Furthermore, public should be encourages to switch on electric vehicles that does affect the air quality. Also, traffic police should be present on the areas which supposed to have more rush than others.
In conclusion, using private vehicles is not a appropriate choice in some circumstances, as there are various scenarios where private vehicle is recommended to use instead of public one. Therefore, people should understand the importance of these rising concerns and try to explore other alternatived that does not affect air quality or results in increasing level of congestion.
