The bar chart illustrates the number of trips made by men and women for six different reasons (day trip, entertainment, visiting friends, talking children to school, shopping and travelling for working) within the UK in June in 2010.
In general, there was a noticeable difference in the number of trips with various purposes in the two genders. Natably, the figure for men is higher than that for women in day trips, entertainment,and travelling for work, while the date for visiting friends, talking children to school, and shopping shows the opposite pattern.
Analyzing the information in greater detail, 35,000 trips were made by men for travelling for work, compared to 30,000 trips for women. On the other hand, standing at 30,000 the number of trips with the reasons for shopping made by women higher than that for men (27,000). Meanwhile, the number of trips for taking children to school follows a similar pattern, with 27,000 trips by women and 26,00 trips by men.
Regarding the remaining categories, the number of trips made by females to visit friends stood at 25,000 trips, followed by males at 21,000 trips. However, the value for male trips for entertaining is higher than that for females, at 15,000 trips in comparison with 11,000 trips. Finally, the number of trips with the purpose of day trips made by males and females were relatively low, at 10,000 trips and 7,000 trips respectively.
