The pie charts compare the proportion of major ways (Oil, Natural Gas, Col, Hydroelectric power, and nuclear power) of energy production for the USA in 1980 and 1990.
Overall, the highest share of energy production came from oil and natural gas, which made more than half of the total energy yield. However, Coal remained at third place in both years, while hydroelectric and nuclear sources remained the lowest.
Energy produced through Gas remained most suitable in both years but seen a decline from 42% to 33% within a decade. Whereas production through natural gas did not fluctuate much and decreased by 1% only.
Familiarity of energy production increased with Coal in ten years and incremented by additional 5% from 22% in 1980.
Lastly, no change in the proportion of hydroelectric power was observed, and it remained stagnant at 5% in both years. While energy generated through nuclear power doubled in a ten-year period from 5% in 1980 to 10% in 1990.
