In 1930, the farmland surrounded the River Stoke with scattered houses, shops, and a post office located near the bridge, and gardens located south of the primary school. A large house was situated to the west of the farmland. By 2010, the number of houses increased and they were more densely packed, especially around the post office and primary school. The farmland decreased in size and a retirement home appeared to the east of the primary school. The gardens were no longer present on the map. The bridge and the River Stoke remained in the same locations in both maps.

The two maps illustrate the village of Stoke ford in 1930 and 2010.
Overall, throughout the years the village showed considerable changes. The most significant changes were new roads and the increase of houses that were constructed next to roads.
In 1930, Stoke ford Village had a lack of accommodation opportunities due to the fact the village contained 10 houses and a large house which had gardens. There were 3 farmlands in the north-east and south-west. There were two shops and a post office in front of the primary school.
In 2010, 4 extension roads were built which were connected to the main track and 41 houses built next to these roads to improve the accommodation opportunities. However, 2 shops and 6 farmhouses were pulled down for the same reason and a number of them replaced with houses. Post office’s and Primary School’s places stayed the same on the contrary primary School reconstructed to expand.
