Over a decade and a half, old buildings have become one of the most discussed phenomena around the world. A number of individuals hold the opinion that ancient buildings should be protected by law. However, others believe that they should be converted into new buildings. It is my firm conviction that the protection of all buildings will bring innumerable benefits to society.
On the one hand, old buildings play a pivotal role in the lives of individuals. There are a number of benefits to protecting them by law, including knowledge about historical places, tourism and economic benefits, and architectural and aesthetic value. A recent research conducted by one of the most famous organizations, for instance, finds that the Taj Mahal, which is located in India, attracts visitors who pay a certain amount of charges, so the government has financial benefits to maintain it. Also, people can learn about historical places as well as their architectural development. Thus, it is important to protect ancient buildings.
On the other hand, new development plays an essential role in the lives of people. A survey conducted by one of the most prestigious media groups, for example, reveals that the government removed old historical buildings and created a new natural park in China. Moreover, the Palace of Udaipur was destroyed by the authorities due to safety concerns. Therefore, it should be refurbished through new buildings.
In conclusion, historical buildings play a paramount role in the lives of citizens. One part of the population thinks that the protection of old buildings by rules is important. Whereas, others disagree. I firmly believe that buildings should be preserved by some rules, such as those related to knowledge about historical places, tourism and economic benefits, and architectural and aesthetic value.
