The given chart illustrates the proportion of foreign students graduating from Canadian universities in eight distinct provinces in a period from 2001 to 2006.
At first glance, there was a significant rising trend on the percentages of international graduates of all surveyed areas in the 2001-2006 period, except for Alberta.
The most striking feature from the graph is that overseas graduates’ percentages increased in both years. Among these areas, the figures of New Brunswick dominated in both years, at exactly 7% in 2001 and nearly 12% in 2006. In contrast, Ontario had Alberta had the lowest proportion of about 3% in 2001 and approximately 4,2% in 2006 respectively.
A more detailed look at the graph reveals that the changes in proportions of international students in all provinces were quite noticeable. While British Columbia experienced a growth rate of over 100%, others’ increases were all under this outstanding figure. On the other hand, Alberta’s percentage in 2001 was slightly larger than its counterpart in 2006 at just under 30%.
