Overall, while North America held the largest share of global wealth, the opposite was true for Africa and India, which had the lowest proportions. Additionally, China had the highest population percentage, whereas the figures for the Rich Asia-Pacific region were the smallest.
In terms of wealth distribution, North America, Europe, and the Rich Asia-Pacific region accounted for the highest proportions, at approximately 35%, 30%, and 25% respectively. In contrast, the remaining five areas contributed significantly less, each representing only around 5% of the global wealth.
Although China was among the least wealthy regions, it accounted for the largest share of the global population, at approximately 25%. In addition, population proportions of around 15% were also observed in Other Asia Pacific, India, and Europe, followed by Africa with 10%. The remaining areas recorded considerably smaller population percentages, at roughly 7%.
