Overall, although classical music was the least popular among the youngest generation, it was the most bought music by the oldest age group. Younger generation prefered pop music, but middle-aged adults purchased pop recordings occasionally.
Almost 5 millions of pop recordings were sold to the citizens aged 16-22, around 3 million was bought by age groups 23-31 and 58+ and middle-aged people only bought roughly 1,5 millions. To people in age between 16 to 31 around 2 millions of recordings of classical music were sold, under 3 million was bought by 32-57 age groups, however older citizens in their 60s purchased approximately 5 millions of them.
People aged 23-57 bought recordings of rock music the most, from three to four millions, however they were second popular among the youngest and oldest citizens. 2 million jazz discs were purchased by people aged 16-22 and around 3 millions of them were bought by any other age groups
