There are both advantages and disadvantages in both aspects of working individually and working in teams. Effectiveness should be considered in various situations due to different types of people, who approach learning and working differently or which one they much prefer.
The first aspect to be considered is those who prefer to work alone for example, introverts. There are likely three main advantages for those who prefer individually. First, they can stay focused on the work without any additional distractions. Secondly some parts of work do need much privacy or secrecy, such as preparing for competition or studying for exam. Thirdly, some decisions can be made quickly due to single opinion. There are also disadvantages in working alone, the main one is that, because of the larger scale of each task, it can take more time and more labor to get the work done.
In the contrast, those who work in teams can also benefit from working together in many ways. The first is that they can discuss and brainstorm on works or projects to make precise decisions and come to agreeable conclusions. The second is that they can detect problems in each section easier because more people are involved in discussion. On the contrary, the main disadvantage of working in groups is that differing opinions from different perspectives can lead to arguments.
In conclusion, I believe that working in teams can be much more effective for work that needs to be done on a larger scale, such as projects in both academic and business. I do firmly believe that diverse opinion within the team contributes to the success and quality of the project.
