The first diagram illustrates the process of manufacture of glass container and the second diagram shows the recycle process of used glass containers.
Overall, it is clear that different raw materials like sand, soda ash, limestone and other chemicals are used to produce glass in four steps. And for recycling make used glass required five steps to make new products.
For the production of glass, firstly raw materials like sand, soda ash, limestone and other chemicals are mixed and melted in glass furnace at approximately 1500°C. Thereafter, molten glass is shaped by blowing to create glass containers.
To recycle the glass, used glass is collected and is sorted by colour. Impurities of glass is removed by washing afterwards clean glass are crushed and melted. Then melted glass is moulded to form new products.
