Homework has always been the topic of debate in education system Some argue that daily homework is necessary for children’s academic education, however others believe that it puts unnecessary burden on their brains. Therefore, this essay will examine both viewpoints and explain why I believe that moderation is the key.
Homework helps in reinforcing topics which they have learnt in class. Students learn about language lessons, mathematical calculations, and about history throughout the day. Therefore, it becomes important to practice whatever they have absorbed all day. Not only everyday practice leads to develop the skill of time management but also builds discipline. Further, it becomes easier for a teacher to access the progress of children that whether they have understood the concepts or not. It can be understood with an example, if children are given homework related to the basics of language understanding then the involvement of parents’ in homework becomes easier for children practice the concepts.
On the other hand, those who oppose daily homework believe that it puts excessive pressure on children After spending several hours at school, they need time to relax and divert their minds to levitate the stress. Unable to do so, lead them to have exhaustion and burnout without spending time outside or being with family members. Early age is an important developing phase in children’s life, so pursuing their hobbies and involvement in physical activities is as important as education For an example, the children who are not able to balance study and other activities end up in developing lower confidence to perform tasks, and a negative attitude in the later stages of life.
conclusion, both views provide compelling arguments. While daily homework may benefit learning but the excess of everything might be harmful for children So, a balanced approach should be taken by educational institutions to deal with this concern. A balanced life-style will help in both academic and personal development of young learners.
