In today’s digital age, many youths are spending much more time reading negative news in online media. This essay will outline the main problems associated with doom-scrolling and propose effective solutions.

Perhaps, the major problem we need to deal with is the level of addiction to social media. Due to the cutting-edge of technology, leading to younger people continuously up-to-date their social media. This causes sleep disturbances, unfocus, and academic or professional underperformance. A second issue is the obsessive way that some youngsters keep scrolling. Had young people been staring at their smartphone or computer for a long-time, the impact of these young people might have been significantly increasing the risk of health problems such as cardiovascular and diabetes. Additionally, it would also make them isolated from social interaction.

Turning to the possible solutions, one key step would be raising awareness about the use of social media wisely. For instance, educating young people about the psychological effect of doom scrolling can help them to control their habit. This can be implemented by giving 30 minutes everyday. To tackle obsessive ways, parents and educators can also play a role by encouraging healthy online habits and promoting alternative activities such as reading, exercise, or face-to-face interaction.

Taking everything into account, doom-scrolling among young people presents both mental and physical challenges. However, through education, time management strategies, and supportive environments, this problem can be effectively reduced. It is crucial that individuals, families, and institutions work together to promote healthier digital habits.
