Overall, although by varying degrees, all three countries experienced an upward trend, with Germany elderly population outnumbering the population levels of other two countries in all time periods.
In 1980, the share of Canadian elderly stood at a marginal 10%, and increasing by 10 percentage points in the following two decades, expected to reach a plateau of a significant 22% in 2030.
The volume of German aged population stood at 15%, a biggest figure in that year. This figure saw a rise of 10 percentage points in 2000, after which if is estimated to amount to a chart high of 25% in 2030.
The pattern for the elderly of the UK was quiet similar. In 1980, the figure started at just below 14%, after which it saw a modest rise and finished at about 18%, far behind the remaining countries.
