Foreign language knowledge has many benetits including developing children’s intelligene and their awareness of the world. I’m of the idea that learning a foreign language should be a requirement for all young learners as it provides improved communication and enhanced cognitive shills.
To begin with, learning a new language is a prolonged process. Mastering a language requires a significant amount ot practice, and learners must spend at Least 10,000 hours to achieve proficiency. It has been scientifically proven that it is much easier for children to learn a new language compared to adults as younger minds are generally more receptive to language acquisition, and early expose can foster natural language development. For example, one study found that young people who began learning an additional language in primary school exhibited greaten language proficiency compared to those who started later. Hence, it as advantageous to start learning a new language at an early age, as they can acquire the necessary vocabulary more quickly.
Secondly, studying foreign languages encourage them develop greater critical thinking and intellectual skills, as well as enhancing their creativity. In conducive learning environment, not only do they expand their knowledge, but also cultivate their understanding ot the world. Additionally, when young individuals are exposed to new languages at an early age, they tend to appreciate different ways of lite through engagement to the cultures of other countries.
Another reason is that teaching a new language boosts their ability to negotiate meaning in other problem-solving task and communicate in a different language systen. In other words, a child learning a new language often practice his skills with other peers his age, who are also learning the same language, even if they are in different classes. As a result, they ane more likely to cope with problem-solving tasks muh faster and to form friendships at such young age.
In conclusion, I fully support the idea that school learner should be required to learn a new language, as it enhanes their intellectual and creativity skills, while also fascinating the achievement of high lever of competency in a new language.
