The table illustrates data on the percentage of adults in five different age groups using internet in one country between 2003 t0 2006.
Overall, internet usage increased significantly in all age groups over the four year period. Younger adults consistently had the highest usage, while the oldest have the lowest.
In 2003, 80% of 16 to 24 aged people were using internet, which increased constantly over the four years and reached 90% in 2006. The 25 to 44 followed a similar trend, in 2003 it started with 70% of users and ends with 85%. Internet users among the 45 to 54 age group increase 50% to 70% during the same period.
Furthermore, for the older individuals the internet usage was grew slower. The 55 to 64 age group saw an 30% to 45% in 2003-2006 period, while the 65+ group had the least percentage , rising gradually 15% to 25%.
