Overall, travellers aged 0 to 15 are dominant in both years. Also, while the 0-15 and 25-34 age groups saw a decrease, all others experienced an increase by 2003.
In 1983, the 0-15 and 25-34 age groups had the largest proportions, at 50% and 20%, respectively. However, they both underwent a significant fall in 2003. Even though the former group fell the most (of 15%) to 35% in 2003, it remained the most common visitors’ age. In contrast, decreasing just by 8%, the latter group went from the second place to the fourth place in 2003.
Regarding the remaining categories, they just accounted for the minority of the total in 1983, but then all saw a noticeable leap in 2003. To be more specific, from 16%, the oldest groups rocketed to 26%, being the second-highest group. In addition, starting as a group with the lowest share, the 16-24 age group saw a dramatic increase to 15% in 2003. About the propotion of 35-54 years, it rose slightly to 12%, which was the same as the figure for 25-34 group.
