In our world we have many types of energy but mosts of them are not renewable and cause grate damage to our environment. For this reason humanity started searching nuclear power because it can produce a lot of energy using a small amount of fuel(in this case:uranium) and does not pollute our planet as well.
According to this diagram we can see the place of uranium in the production of nuclear power. The diagram consists of 6 steps: the first-the mining of uranium, the second-the convertion and enrichment of uranium creating U-235 fuel pellets, the third and the fourth-using U-235 in energetic during 4 years. The fifth step is an interesting fact as some spent fuel can be re-processed and re-used. And last but not least, the sixth step is the storing of spent fuel.
Although nuclear energy has many pros it also has cons. The biggest disadvantage is the storing of spent nuclear fuel. Many countries like Russia, France, USA and others spent lots of money for this every year as nuclear waste is still dangerous and harnful for the earth and mankind.
In the end, nuclear energy is a powerful tool. It has the potential to provide clean and reliable electricity, but it also carries serious risks. Whether we choose to use it or not, one thing is clear: the future of energy is one of the most important topics of our time.
