The map illustrates the changes that have occurred in Porth Harbour in the year 2000 and its present day.
Overall, while the general layout of the map remained the same, significant changes have taken place particularly in the eastern side of the harbour.
In 2000, the western side of the harbour was characterized by a disused castle which has now been replaced by a hotel with a private beach. The transformation has led to the construction of a new road directly connecting the hotel from the main road. Adjacent to this, new cafes and shops have also been established in the previous vacant area near the lifeboat station. Furthermore, the dock station has been expanded with an additional dock to accommodate more passenger ferries.
On the western side, fewer changes have been observed. The most notable change is the relocation of the fishing boats and the marina (private yachts), which have swapped positions. Additionally, a new road now links to the western side of the southern car park, while the previous connection from the south side has been removed. Showers and toilets have also been added above that car parking area.
