The bar chart illustrates the proportion of four types of household waste which were recycled in a particular city from 1992 to 2002.
Overall, the percentage of plastic was remained relatively same ,while the proportion of glass experienced a noticeable change throughout the period. In addition, the percentage of cans and paper showed an upward trend following with other categories of waste.
To be more specific, the figure for plastic was with about 10% in 1992. Then it witnessed a gradual increase in 1997, which was unchanged in the final year. As for Cans, starting with under 20% of recycled waste in 1992, it dropped almost twice the next year. However, the proportion of cans rose above 20% in 2002.
Regarding the paper and glass, both trends started at the same point with approximately 15% in 1992. Moreover, the percentages of both patterns grew consistently throughout the period. However, the figure for glass was the highest pattern in 2002, which was almost 50%.
