The bar chart gives information about the number of kilometers travelled by passengers on five means of transport, as well as total kilometers, in the UK in two distinct years. All numbers are given in billions.
Overall, it is seen that the changes in the distance travelled were minimal in all modes of transport, resulting the total number rose over a decade. Distance passed by passengers on air, bus and rail increased while the opposite was true in bicycle and motorbike usage.
Turning to the details, in 1990, bicycles travelled approximately 8 billion kilometers whereas motorbikes covered around 10 billion kilometers. By 2000, both of them had dropped to about 7 billion kilometers. As for air travel, in 1990, around 5 billion kilometers was covered, but this number increased by roughly 2 billion kilometers in 2000.
The distance travelled by bus and rail was far more than two-wheelers in both years. The former mode of transport made up 47 billion kilometers, which was followed an increase of around 1 billion kilometers in 2000. Similarly, the latter mode of transport also rose from 45 billion kilometers to roughly 48 billion kilometers. Finally, the total distance covered also registered an upward trend, climbing from about 110 billion kilometers to 115 billion kilometers. thank you so much for considering checking this work
