The illustration demonstrates the process of producing wool-based products from sheep.
Overall, the process consists of ten main stages, commencing with breeding sheep and continuing through conversion of sheep’s coats into tufts of wool, before culminating in finished products.
The initial stages focus on converting raw materials into wool. Firstly, sheep are reared for wool extraction. The collected fleece is then thoroughly cleaned and dried before being carded in the next stage. Following this mechanical process, the fleece is separated into two types: string-like fibres, which are recycled, and tufts of wool, which are transferred to storage for subsequent stages.
The subsequent stages are dedicated to producing finished wool-based goods. The stored tufts of wool are sequentially fed into spinners, where they are transformed into balls of yarn. While some of these are allocated for knitting purposes, others are further processed into garments or carpets.
