In terms of vehicle transport, cars were the most popular choice in 2008, which accounted for 42% of people’s choices. This was followed by buses which was preferred back then by 30% of the people, putting them together tells that 72% of inhabitants were using motorized vehicles for commuting in 2008. On the contrary, in the next decade travelling by car showed a sharp decline to just 20% preferred way, which then became the least used mode. On the other hand bus usage decreased slightly by 5%.
In regard of other modes of transportation, cycling and walking were unpopular back in 2008, cycling was only chosen by 17% of people, and travelling on foot was the least popular choice with only 11%. Nevertheless in 2018 cycling and walking had increased significantly, their collective use had made up more than half of the people as a selected method of transportation in 2018.
