The illustration above depicts how glass is recycled, which consists of five steps.
First, used glass bottles are thrown into recycle bins for collection. Next, they are taken by bin lorries to treatment plants. Upon arrival, they will be transported to cleaning and sterillizing machines, so that the bottles are completely free from bacteria and dirt.
After that, bottles will be carried to an automated machine, where they are first crushed, then melted under a high temperature. Then, the melted glass can be filled into molding machines, at which liquefied glass is poured into molds of different shapes and sizes, so that new glass bottles are born. Finally, the newborn bottles are taken to places nationwide for different uses. When we finish using these new bottles again, they can then be recycled, and a new cycle of recycling begins.
In conclusion, glass bottles experience a five-step process when they are recycled.
