Presented are pie charts illustrating a breakdown of water usage in agriculture categorized into six different sectors and how much these products cost in Australia in 2004.
Overall, it is evident that water was mostly distributed to vegetables, while rice and livestock required the least amount of water. Another notable observation is that fruits generated the highest income.
With regard to water utilization, 46% of water resources was used in growing vegetables, allowing it to dominate the chart. In second place was fruits, with its figure standing at 28%, which doubled the percentage of water catering for cereal. This was closely followed by dairy products, at exactly 8%. Bottom of the list was rice and livestock, equally accounting for 3%.
Concerning the profits made for these sources, despite not receiving the greatest amount of water, fruits topped the chart, with 42% of total income being recorded, compared to 33% of earnings from selling vegetables. Next came cereals, contributing 13% to the total revenue, which was 5% higher than the data for dairy produce. In last place was rice and livestock, making up a mere 1% and 3%, respectively.
