Overall, e-mail had the highest proportion in total ages, while the unpopular sources was the least reason for using online services. Futhermore, the rest of the figures accounted for a considerable proportion of the total, showing its important role in the overall trend.
Regarding to the chart, academic study showed a second most popular reason among people aged 11-19, with 36% using internet for this purpose. Subsequently, this percentage gradually decreased, dropping to just 18% those aged 40 and over. Moreover, email usage contributed the most significant part to online activities across all groups, with the highest proportion seen in the 11-19 group (40%), and then decreased steadily in older groups. Similarly, online chatting represented 15% in the first group. Subsequently, its rate fell significantly to 3% in the last group of ages.
Constratively, the usage of e-banking was only 2%, but this figure rose dramatically with age, reaching 20% for those over 40. In addition, a similar trend can be seen in online shopping, which was the least used by the youngest group, showing 5%. However, online shopping was the most common among older users with 20%. Eventually, there was a slighty change with others reason in all the ages.
