The bar chart illustrates the rate of people not doing exercise in each age cohort in two genders: male and female in 2005.

As can be seen, the proportion of men that exercise less is not as many as the one of women. Moreover, If people get older, they will exercise less. For example, people aged 55+ had the least exercise while the younger adults (18-24) were reversed.

Regarding men, there were 10% of men who are 18-24. Then, this figure went up by a tenth in the group of 25-34. After that, it saw a growth of 5% in the middle-age group (35-44). Next, there was a rise of 5% in the 45-54 group, followed by a climb to 35% in elderly people (55+).

In terms of women, the age group 18-24 started at nearly 20%, whereas the one in men was less than a third. Then, the younger adults (25-34) witnessed an upward trend of nearly 10%, while it was quite as much as the one in the men’s age group 35-44. Subsequently, individuals aged 35-44 reached over 30% and were just less than the one aged 45-54 in men. There was a climb of 5% in people aged 45-54. Finally, elderly people (55+), who had the highest rate of not exercising, stood at above 40
