The two pie charts illustrate the percentage of energy generated from dissimilar sources in a specific nation from 1985 to 2003.
Overall, it can be seen that the amount of natural gas, coal, other renewables tended to grow while the amount of oil, nuclear reduced.Only the figure for hydrogen remained the same.
Dealing with graph one, oil was the main source of energy in 1985, accounting for over one-half.The figure for nuclear was lower, at about more one- fourth. The percentage of natural gas stood at 13% ,while the figure for coal, hydrogen and other renewables all accounted for less than 10%, at about 8%, 4% and 1% respectively.
With graph two, the data for oil tended to reduce dramatically, about 13%, however, it was still the major source of energy in 2003. The percentage of nuclear tended to decrease slightly, accounting for 17%. After nearly two decades, the proportion of natural gas, other renewables, and coal increased significantly, at about 23%, 4% and 13% respectively.Only the figure for hydrogen remained the same after 18 years, at about 4%.
