The given table presents the differences between the number of international travelers in 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is clear that there is a significant growth in the number of people travelling abroad. Moreover, Europe held the highest quantity of tourists visiting internationally throughout 4 years while the opposite trend was seen in Middle East countries.
Notably, the data indicate a sharp increase in Africa and the Middle East over the period . By contrast, those countries only made a small contribution to the overall number with 7% compared with the total.
Regarding developed-countries, namely America, Europe, Asia and the pacific, at the starting point, Europe conducted half of the total international travelers with 280,2 million people then nearly doubled in 2005 (400,2 million). Nevertheless, America and Asia and the pacific went through the same patterns, starting from 80.5 and 60.2 then slightly grew to around 110 million people per year. However, in 2005, Asia and the pacific was raised into second place with 135,8 million people per year.
